Intake Walnut Blasting

What is Walnut Blasting ?

Walnut blasting is the process by which the build up of carbon is cleaned from the intake valves in your car’s engine. This process is usually undertaken on direct petrol engines which are more prone to forming carbon deposits when compared to diesel cars. At MHVD we have the specialist equipment needed to deliver this professionally for you, even using synthetic walnut replacements which are more cost effective and kinder to the environment too.

Why do I need Walnut Blast Cleaning for my engine ?

When this carbon build up occurs it causes several issues such as loss of performance, engine misfire and high emissions resulting in an MOT fail. This of course means that your car cannot be used on the road and there is also an expense associated with fixing the problem. Walnut Blast Cleaning is specifically designed to disrupt and clean the build up of carbon – by blasting crushed walnut shells or other replacement materials into your engine’s air intake ports.

Could I have prevented this from happening ?

No, there are things that you could have done to delay the carbonisation but the effort and cost would have been prohibitive. Removing carbon from petrol injection engines is the quickest and most cost effective solution to resolve this carbon build up when it does happen.

Are Walnut Blasting Services safe for my vehicle ?

Yes. Whilst any highly skilled procedure is not without potential issues, walnut blasting is the safest and most economical way to get your engine performing back to how it was designed. So if you have more questions about walnut blast cleaning or to book in your vehicle please give us a call!
